In this Easter message, Pastor Rick answers the question of why Jesus had to die, in a message he calls "Christianity in a nutshell." This Easter came six weeks after the release of Mel Gibson's movie, The Passion, so it was an Easter that probably generated more enthusiasm and interest among the unchurched than in recent history. Pastor Rick makes a guarantee to his listeners who have not attended church before, that by the end of the service they will fully understand what Christianity is all about, why a billion people love Christ, why millions of people have given their lives for Christ, why America has hundreds of thousands of churches and why it's the most important information they will need to know in their lives.
Pastor Lance Witt teaches this Mother's Day message based on 1Timothy 5:1-2 and Titus 2:3-5. Pastor Witt teaches the church to encourage women who are more mature in their faith to love, nurture and mentor the next generation of women; to take on the role of a spiritual mother. He challenges the women to take their God given influence, resolve and determination and use it to influence the world, one woman at a time.

Pastor Doug Fields uses the disciples as an example of ordinary people who lived life well. He uses their experiences in Matthew 4-10 as examples of how their lives were transformed as they followed Jesus. Pastor Doug's emphasis on the practical "how to's" of living well is to replace convenience with obedience, put yourself in situations where you can have an impact for Jesus, and believe that you can make a difference for him.

Pastor Rick Warren and his wife Kay discuss the PEACE Plan in this message. The PEACE Plan is the church's answer to the five spiritual "global giants," problems so big that no government can possibly resolve them: spiritual emptiness, self-serving leaders, poverty, disease, and ignorance. Pastor Rick teaches that only the church is equipped to take on these global giants. This message addresses the problem of disease and the "C" in the PEACE Plan, Caring for the sick, and specifically the world's greatest health crisis today, the HIV/AIDS crisis. A compelling testimony is given by Princess Zulu, a personal friend of Kay Warren's from Zambia who is HIV positive.

Pastor Rick Warren kicks off the 40 Days of Community with this message. The focus on this campaign is the question "What on earth are WE here for?" This campaign will seek to deepen the fellowship within our church and help us to reach out to the community beyond our church, both with our small groups as the catalyst. In this 2004 State of the Church Message, Pastor Rick reveals his goals for the future of Saddleback Church. The key scripture Rick uses as a launch for this message is Acts 1:8: "When the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power, and will tell people about me everywhere- in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Pastor Rick applies this scripture to the missions of our church: our Jerusalem in the many venues of our church campus; our Judea in our small groups; our Samaria which is the diverse cultures of our state, and to the ends of the earth with the launch of our Global PEACE Plan.

Lee relates the story from 12 years ago of the flight booking he cancelled on a "feeling." That flight crashed, killing all passengers on board. The passengers had 23 seconds with the knowledge of their impending death. What would we do if we were faced with the"edge of eternity"? Lee uses the image of an hourglass to illustrate his key points regarding regrets over words not said, remorse over risks not taken, the importance of relationships, and our reliance on God.

Pastor Lance Witt gives us an inside view of what we're going to be doing in the upcoming 40 Days of Community Campaign. Drawing from the story of Moses and the people of Israel at Mount Sinai in Exodus 19, Pastor Witt helps us to prepare spiritually for the campaign. He reminds us to remember God's faithfulness, celebrate our future, commit with our community, and to get ready for a God encounter. Finally he exhorts us that often the most life-altering encounters with God require us to leave the routine, the comfortable and the familiar.

Pastor Rick's theme for this Christmas Eve message is light. Jesus wants to brighten up our life this Christmas. He begins by leading in a prayer, "God, I'm not sure why I'm here, but I ask you to shed some light on my life so I can see you, others, and myself more clearly". In this message designed for seekers, Rick teaches the five things that Jesus came to earth to do: to enlighten us, inform us of God's plan, guide us, heal our hurts, and transform our lives.
